Granoro 100% Italian Extravirgin Olive Oil D.O.P. is produced with olives cultivated in Apulia (Italy) at “Di Corato” farm, in the countryside surrounding “Castel del Monte”, in Andria. The farm is situated in Contrada Livrera (today known as Rivera), one of the most important agricultural area in Italy.
The olives are harvested using the ancient picking method called “bacchiatura” and are crushed in a stone mill. The cold milling of the olive paste thus produced takes place only through mechanic means and produces low-acidity oil (max 0,5%). It is highly digestible and for its organoleptic and nutritional features it provides the necessary daily intake of vitamins (A and E groups), polyphenols and lipides and it protects our circulatory and hepatic systems. Moreover, the oleic acid (the main fatty acid present in the extravirgin olive oil, accounting for about 70-80%) is monounsaturated and therefore able to decrease the harmful LDL cholesterol.
The farm does not use pesticides and chemical substances, as if it were organic farming.
